Hybrid Sport Female

Simpson has listened to feedback from female motorsport competitors and created Hybrid Sport devices designed specifically for women. This means female drivers can now enjoy the same high level of protection as the original Hybrid range, but with a fit and comfort tailored to them. The women’s version looks the same as the original, but the harnesses have been reshaped and angled to better suit the female body.

Simpson Hybrid devices are the only FIA 8858-2010 approved Head and Neck Restraints that protect in front, angled, and side impacts. Unlike older HANS devices that rest on the chest and collarbone, the Hybrid sits on the back and shoulders, making it more comfortable, less restrictive, and safer when exiting the car.

The Hybrid Sport is an upgraded version of the Hybrid Pro Rage. It’s lighter—about 20% less weight in the large size, including hardware—and uses a strong, modern DuPont carbon/polymer material. It features improved wings for better harness containment, sliding tethers for greater head movement, and a multi-tether system for better visibility and side-to-side motion. The device is certified by both SFI 38.1 and FIA.

The Hybrid Sport can fit directly to existing FIA HANS posts, or it can be ordered with M61 quick release tethers and anchors.

Attachment Options

• HANS Post Anchor: Works with helmets already fitted with FIA-approved HANS anchors (FIA 8858-2002 / 8858-2010 or higher).

• M61 Quick Release: Allows fast release with a pull cord, approved for FIA 8858-2010 helmets or higher. Ideal for rally drivers who remove helmets often.

Motorsport UK Regulations

• Stage rally competitors must use an FHR (Frontal Head Restraint).

• Circuit racers in cars built after 1976 must use an FHR.

• For circuit racers in pre-1977 cars, an FHR is strongly recommended.
