• Cleaning: The grooves on the disc surface help to sweep pads clean, removing dirt, water, mud, and debris from the braking area. This ensures optimal braking action and prevents the "record groove" or galling effect common with non-slotted discs.

• Durability: The discs feature dimple drilling rather than through-drilling, a design EBC developed to offer pad degassing while avoiding the stress cracks that can occur with fully drilled rotors. As of 2023, new production uses a silver Geomet coating to match original equipment rotor hubs.
